About Me

 
My name is Aram Vela.
I’m an Art Director from Edinburg, Texas, now based in Dallas. My journey began in 2019 making stickers for the local coffee shop I worked for. Since then, I've evolved from managing social media, designing merchandise, and shooting content to working full-time as an Art Director for Dieste Inc., where I've had the privilege of working with brands like Carter BloodCare, Merck, Pfizer, Cricket, and Delta Dental. 

My toolkit includes building impactful decks, the Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, graphic design, digital illustration, photography, and the occasional copywriting. Design is a huge part of my life. I love keeping my skills sharp by doing commission work for local bands and businesses. My fascination with design extends beyond the digital realm, encompassing everything from architecture to bonsai trees.

Being a jack of all trades has proven invaluable as an Art Director. I've found strength in being the "second smartest person in the room" across various disciplines, allowing me to connect with specialists while bringing a broad perspective to the table. I thrive on having just enough knowledge in many areas to speak the language, build relationships, and ultimately create more thoughtful work.

When I'm not creating, you'll find me outdoors, listening to music, reading sci-fi, playing chess, at the gym, or hitting the local jazz club — just a few of the hobbies I cycle through as my curiosity leads me.
